How did Maximilian Brückner become famous?
Maximilian Brückner was born in Munich in 1979 and actually wanted to study medicine after graduating from high school – he had already secured his place at the university. However, when his parents discovered an advertisement from the Otto Falkenberg Drama School in Munich that was looking for new students, he quickly changed his mind and passed the entrance exam with flying colors. In 2003 he successfully completed drama school and in 2002 he appeared on the stage of the Volkstheater Munich for the first time.

He has remained loyal to the theater to this day – and yet Maximilian Brückner can also be seen frequently in film and television. He made his film debut in 2004 with “Men Like Us”, and later appeared in films such as “Sophie Scholl – The Last Days”, “Those who die earlier are dead longer” and “Heavy Boys”. The series in which he starred include “Tannbach” and “Schwarzach 23”. His latest project: In the ARD film “Mordnacht” he plays Gabriel Panski, who is suspected of murder and is said to have killed a real estate shark.

But his breakthrough came with a completely different role – namely that of the Bavarian chief inspector Franz Kappl in “Tatort”. From 2006 to 2012 he was the head of the Saarbrücken team and one of the youngest “crime scene” detectives ever. The reason for his exit from “Tatort” is said to have been heated discussions with the editorial team.

In spring 2026, Maximilian Brückner will take on the role of Commissioner in the new edition of “Commissioner Rex”. Max Steiner, the fur nose’s new master. He tells “swyrl” about filming with the German Shepherd: “I had to be wide awake at all times, react to the dog and still stay in character and say my lines. Even if I almost trip over him because he now prefers to go left instead of right.” At the beginning of filming, the chemistry between Brückner and the dog was not yet right because he was the only actor during the casting who “that the dog didn’t want to take a photo with.” Maximilian Brückner was therefore afraid that he wouldn’t like his hairy partner: “Great, now he doesn’t like me…”

For example, Florian Brückner, Dominikus Brückner and Franz Xaver Brückner are well-known actors on television and on the theater stage. Florian Brückner was just seen in “New Stories from Pumuckl”. His famous sisters also include Susanne Wiesner and Isabella Brückner.
Who is Maximilian Brückner’s wife?
Maximilian Brückner is a family man through and through. He has been married to his wife Magdalena Staudacher since 2012 and the couple has two daughters together. The family lives together in a multi-generational house in Upper Bavaria, two of his brothers and his parents also live there. And a few sheep, cows, ducks and goats also live on the farm – a nice balance to the hectic show business!
