Choosing the right yarn is crucial for spring knitting projects. It should be light, breathable and comfortable on the skin. Here are some types of wool that are particularly suitable for the warmer seasons:
#1 Cotton
Cotton is a classic for spring. It is light, breathable and absorbent. Mercerized cotton is particularly pleasant because it has a beautiful shine and is also very robust. The knitting yarn is ideal for T-shirts, tops and… Knitting sweaters of all kinds.

Linen is a natural fiber that has a cooling effect. It is robust and durable and is particularly suitable for airy summer clothing. Knitted Linen can sometimes be a bit scratchy, but there are also softer blends with cotton or viscose.

Personally, I prefer to knit in spring Alpaca wool. The knitting yarn is very light and still warms well. The wool is particularly soft and does not scratch. Alpaca wool is breathable and regulates body temperature. Ideal for sensitive skin!

If there is one knitting yarn that should not be missing in spring, it is of course cashmere. Knitting with the noble fiber is a lot of fun. And the finished sweaters, T-shirts, scarves, etc. are made to last a lifetime.
#5 Blended Yarns
I can also highly recommend mixed yarns for knitting in spring. They combine the advantages of different fibers. For example, blends of cotton and linen are particularly breathable and robust, while blends of wool and silk are very soft and pleasant on the skin. Or how about a mix of fine cashmere and silk?
