It’s supposed to be nice and cozy on our balcony, but sometimes it just doesn’t quite work out. Do you also have such a problem? We have found 5 errors that could have something to do with this and that you can change yourself in no time.
#1 Too much junk
Don’t turn your balcony into a storage room for garden tools you don’t use. There shouldn’t be more empty pots than plants and herbs on your balcony. If you don’t have space for these things in your own four walls, you can also use benches on the balcony in which pots or potting soil can be stored. It is important that not every corner is cluttered, but that you create a clean but still cozy atmosphere through outdoor organization.
#2 Poor space management
This aspect is particularly important for balcony owners who only have a limited amount of space and want to use it best and most efficiently. Hanging baskets or Euro pallets that you can attach your flowers to save space and look great. Make sure you don’t have any dead corners on your balcony. If you are handy, you can build your own benches or storage areas to fill them.
#3 Too little green
A beautiful balcony thrives on lush greenery – only plants make it really comfortable. And don’t worry: you can create an oasis even if you don’t have a green thumb. Simply choose plants and herbs that are particularly easy to care for and require hardly any water. So you can enjoy the summer relaxed between fresh greens and aromatic herbs.
#4 Incorrect planting
The right location is the be-all and end-all for a blooming balcony oasis. While some herbs and flowers love the sun, others thrive best in cool shade. Unfortunately, if you ignore the lighting conditions, you risk quickly drying out plants – and few things cause as much displeasure on the balcony as sad, brown leaves.
#5 No light
They decorated everything nicely but forgot one thing and that was atmospheric lighting! Of course, if you want to spend nice evenings on your balcony, you need one Lamps, fairy lights or candles that create a cozy atmosphere.
