Chickpea beggars: healthy chocolate recipe

What if I told you that we can make chocolate beggars… with chickpeas ? Yes, you read that correctly. And yet, this combination has everything to please: it allows you to transform a simple square of chocolate into a more filling, more nutritious snack… without taking anything away from the pleasure. Because behind this somewhat surprising recipe hides a very interesting nutritional reality: the association chocolate + legumes which makes it an Easter treat delicious, simple to prepare and nutritious.

The advantages of this recipe (Easter special… but not only that😉)

At Easter, chocolate is in the spotlight. But rather than consuming it alone (and often in large quantities), this recipe allows you to transform it into a more balanced snack… without taking anything away from the pleasure.

The clever little twist? The association chocolate + legumes (chickpeas). Why does this change everything? Well for several reasons:

✔️ Chickpeas provide fiber and plant proteins
✔️ This combo allows a better satiety (we are full longer)
✔️ The absorption of sugars is more progressive → more stable energy
✔️ Result: a gourmet pleasure… but more sustainable

Concretely: we treat ourselves, we enjoy chocolate… but we also do good for our body. And good news: it works at Easter… but also all year round for smart and delicious snack.

Rinse, drain then dry the chickpeas carefully. Spread them on a baking tray with coconut oil, then bake for 25 to 30 minutes until slightly crispy.
  2. Meanwhile, do melt the chocolate gently (double boiler or microwave).
Then add the date cream and mix.
  3. Add the roasted chickpeas to the melted chocolate and mix to coat well.
  4. Using a tablespoon, form small piles on baking paper.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hourwhile the chocolate hardens.
